Schedule & publish to Instagram

Accepted file types

Image

  • Max image size: 10 MB

  • Supported formats: JPG, GIF, and PNG. Animated GIFs will show as regular images.

  • Only 25 Instagram posts are allowed over a 24 hour period.

  • Multi-image posts are supported via a carousel.

  • Aspect ratio: Must be within a 4:5 to 1.91:1 range

  • Minimum width: 320

  • Maximum width: 1440

Video

  • Max video size: 200 MB

  • Supported formats: MP4 and MOV.

  • Multi-videos are not supported.

  • Duration max: 15 minutes

  • Duration min: 3 seconds.

  • Video size:

    • Maximum columns (horizontal pixels): 1920

    • Minimum aspect ratio [cols / rows]: 4 / 5 or 0.8

    • Maximum aspect ratio [cols / rows]: 16 / 9 or 1.77

  • Video max frames 60fps.

  • Video bitrate: VBR, 5Mbps maximum

  • Audio bitrate: 128kbps

  • Audio codec: AAC, 48khz sample rate maximum, 1 or 2 channels (mono or stereo).

  • Video codec: HEVC or H264, progressive scan, closed GOP, 4:2:0 chroma subsampling.

  • Frame rate: 23-60 FPS.

  • IGTV objects are not supported.

Reels

  • Max video size: 50 MB

  • Container: MOV or MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14), no edit lists, moov atom at the front of the file.

  • Audio codec: AAC, 48khz sample rate maximum, 1 or 2 channels (mono or stereo).

  • Video codec: HEVC or H264, progressive scan, closed GOP, 4:2:0 chroma subsampling.

  • Frame rate: 23-60 FPS.

  • Video size:

    • Maximum columns (horizontal pixels): 1920 px

    • Required aspect ratio is between 0.01:1 and 10:1 but we recommend 9:16 to avoid cropping or blank spaces.

  • Video bitrate: VBR, 5Mbps maximum.

  • Audio bitrate: 128kbps.

  • Duration: 3 seconds minimum and 15 minutes maximum.

Schedule an Instagram post

  1. Go to app.rocketlevel.com and log in to your account

  2. Click Social on the top menu and select Content from the drop-down list

  3. Click Create Content

  4. Add caption, emoji, hashtag for your post

    • Instagram Character Limit: 2200

  5. Click the icon Add images/videos and select the media file for your post

    • You can include up to 10 photos and videos in a single post

  6. Click Add tag to add your saved tags or create new tags

  7. Click the Save group button and select Schedule

  8. Adjust the date and time for publishing

  9. Click Schedule again to finish

    • Alternatively, click the down arrow next to the Schedule button > Save to save your post as a draft and come back to it later

Your Instagram post will be automatically published at its scheduled time. You’ll also be notified of successful publishing by email.

Create a Instagram reel

By default, when the Sync Content is turned on, the video post published to Instagram will appear on both Feed and Reel tabs (more details in https://business.instagram.com/blog/instagram-video-now-instagram-reels). If you wish to customise the content for Instagram Reels, follow the steps below:

  1. On the Create Content modal, turn off the Sync Content

  2. Click the Instagram Reel tab

  3. Add video to your reel

    • If you want your reel to be visible on the Reel tab only, uncheck the box Also share to Feed

  4. Click Save to finish

    • Alternately, click the down arrow next to the Save button > Schedule or Publish Now to publish your reel. The reel will be public by default.

Edit an Instagram post

  1. Go to app.rocketlevel.com and log in to your account

  2. Click Social on the top menu and select Content from the drop-down list

  3. Navigate to the post you want to delete

  4. Click the ellipsis icon on the top right corner to expand the action menu

  5. Click Edit Content

  6. If your post hasn’t been published yet, you can make changes to:

    • Caption, emoji, hashtags

    • Tags

    • Media files

  7. If your post is published, you can only view the content

Publish an Instagram post

There are a few options for you to publish a post right away.

If you’re opening the Edit Content pop-up:

  1. Click the the down arrow next to the Save button > Publish Now

  2. The post can be published immediately

If the post has been scheduled or saved as draft:

  1. Click Social on the top menu and select Content from the drop-down list

  2. Navigate to the post you want to publish

  3. Click the ellipsis icon on the top right corner to expand the action menu

  4. Click Publish Now

    • Alternately, click Edit Content, navigate to the Save group button and select Publish Now from the drop-down list

  5. The post can be published immediately

Delete an Instagram post

  1. Go to app.rocketlevel.com and log in to your account

  2. Click Social on the top menu and select Content from the drop-down list

  3. Navigate to the post you want to delete

  4. Click the ellipsis icon on the top right corner to expand the action menu

  5. Click Delete Content

  6. Click Delete to confirm
